Samuel TingWhen we (my wife and I) planned to visit Seoul, we were pretty much obsessed with booking a cheap flight from Singapore to Seoul. The first option that our travel agent recommended was Singapore Airlines. But our last flying experience with Singapore Airlines wasn’t up to the mark. This time, we decided to switch to Asiana Airlines just for a change.
Asiana Airlines, a South Korea airline has rapidly expanded since it was established back in 1988. It is headquartered in Seoul itself. The Korean airline needs to be on your checklist for sure. Asiana Airlines runs cheapest direct flights from Singapore to Seoul starting from S$151.
You can expect to have plenty of value with some excellent economy class experience on your Asiana Airlines flight from Singapore to Seoul. This article will give you an insider’s look at what it’s like to fly with Asiana Airlines from our perspective.
Singapore Airlines and Asiana Airlines: Comfort Compared
We’ve gathered customers’ honest feedback and combined it with our experience to compare Singapore Airlines and Asiana Airlines. Here’s what we discovered.
Asiana Airlines
Depending on Asiana Airlines aircraft you are flying on, seat pitch on Economy Class flights ranges from 32 inches to 34 inches. Seat width of an Economy class Asiana Flight ranges between 17.2 inches and 18 inches. All their seats can recline 108°. Travelers to Seoul love how comfortable Asiana Airlines seats are. They claimed them to be “spongy” as well as “soft”. The customers also reviewed that the legroom space is outstanding on board.
Singapore Airlines

Asiana Airlines Review: Flights From Singapore to Seoul
Honestly, we didn’t know about Asiana Airlines beforehand. We never heard of this air flight so we were sceptical at first. After many conversations with our travel agent, we booked the flight.
Check-In Experience
This was our first flight aboard Asiana airlines. First impressions count and our arrival and check-in were brilliantly handled. Check-in and baggage claim was such a breeze. Their on-time departure impressed us the most.
In-Flight Customer Service
We had an impressive in-flight experience. Asiana Airlines attendants delivered service with smile. They anticipated every need in advance and delivered charming and perfect service at every time. We liked their pleasant and courteous flight attendants. The flight attendants were very helpful. We could see members of the flight crew going the extra mile for their customers. However, temperature inside flight was not consistent. We felt hot for a little while. The cabin overall is good.
Seating Experience
Our flight was only half full. We got to move from our seats so that we could have a row all to ourselves. They have bigger legroom than other economy flights we had. The plane was well-maintained and super roomy. The comfortable seating offered plenty of room to spread out. We got heaps of space to chillax. Their seating space is definitely a plus. Wide-bodied people would easily enjoy a long trip on this flight.
Food And Beverage
We were particularly hungry when we boarded the flight. All we needed was a wonderful meal to stuff our tummies. The food was good considering it catered well to Korean passengers and Western tastes. They provided juices and snacks in between meals. The attendants would come around with water very frequently throughout the flight to Seoul. The attendants offered two rounds of drinks after meal. You can always request for more drinks. The desserts also didn’t disappoint.
Entertainment Options
There was not a wide array of entertainment options available. They do offer a high-definition screen and free earphones. Although the inflight entertainment is free, the limited choice of inflight movies concerned the customers the most. We wish they had English subtitles on all their movies. However, the entertainment choices were sufficient for us at least.
Restrooms
The restrooms in this Asiana Airlines flight were spacious too. They provided more lavatory toiletries than expected. Small things really count. The toilets were clean with fresh toilet paper and air freshener. Sometimes a folded toilet paper at the end can give such a nice feeling. We were pretty satisfied.
Others
This Asiana Airlines flight was a better choice than Singapore Airlines and also offered a less chaotic vibe. Our flight to Seoul landed on time. The only downside of traveling on this Asiana Airlines flight was the outdated or rather old equipment, although well maintained. They could do with a refresh. The price was more than fair. Comparing it to our previous economy class experience with Singapore Airlines, the cost-effectiveness of this Asiana Airlines flight from Singapore to Seoul, paired with outstanding service and food, is worth exploring. However, the fleet of Singapore Airlines was modern, and the entertainment options felt superior, too.
Conclusion: Is Asiana Airlines Worth It
Traveling on this economy-class flight to Seoul from Singapore was worth every penny. We can say we did not have any jet lag. We can surely suggest Asiana Airlines flight from Singapore to Seoul to our family and friends. We refuse to go on Singapore Airlines the next time. We will probably give this brilliant value for money option another try. We hope they offer subtitles with their Korean shows in various languages in the future, and that could probably be their gateway to outstanding customer service. Overall, everything went smoothly for us. We believe an Asiana Airlines flight from Singapore to Seoul is a cost-effective flight for all travellers. We are planning to travel on Asiana Airlines business class next.
