Wallace and Gromit’s new AR adventure launches on mobile

Wallace & Gromit: The Big Fix Up is the title of a new interactive mobile adventure based on the iconic British claymation comedy franchise.

Developed by studio Fictioneers, the game is now available for download on Android and iOS devices via the Play Store and App Store, respectively. This time around, the famous duo will go on an epic adventure filled with CG animations, in-game phone calls, comic strips, XR portals, multi-user AR gameplay, and other AR elements. Also, you’ll be able to “Fix Up” the English city of Bristol. To be exact, Wallace and his faithful dog will dive right into the business of their lifetime, as their venture, Spick & Spanners, gets a hold of a contract to get Bristol in shape. In partnership with Aardman Studios, Fictioneers delivered a pretty unique experience with Wallace & Gromit: The Big Fix Up. That’s largely on account of the game’s augmented reality component that allows you to interact with the two beloved characters in a direct manner and highly responsive manner.

Even though the game is ready to be played from the comfort of your home, its AR component largely relies on its alternative mode which leverages the 3D-mapping platform Fantasmo. Wallace & Gromit: The Big Fix Up consequently allow you to explore a city-scale AR world, thus essentially bringing the center of Bristol at your doorstep.
