Nicolas Cage to star as Joe Exotic in Tiger King TV series

There appears to be no rest for Nicolas Cage, as the actor with an infamously long list of movies has just signed up for yet another role. This time, the actor will play the main character in the second series of Netflix’s Tiger King, a show about a beef between Joe Exotic and Carole Baskin, two characters that are knee deep in the tiger business.

Nicolas Cage has the best chance to embody the character

The show originated as an article in Leif Reigstad’s Texas Monthly, with the full title of Joe Exotic: A Dark Journey Into the World of a Man Gone Wild. Not before long, Netflix used the premise to make a documentary-style series that was fairly well-received, mostly due to the bombastic nature of the plot.

Interest in the show was so large that various networks followed suit with their own takes on the Tiger King’s adventures. In fact, UCP hopped to the idea first with a show based on a podcast revolving around Tiger King, although Netflix was faster in its production and UCP is yet to release its limited series. Netflix is already working on a follow-up, while ID is looking to expand the character with a show called Investigating The Strange World Of Joe Exotic. However, due to Nicolas Cage’s career, which often involves him playing characters that are as outlandish as Tiger King himself, it might be safe to say that this will be the most amusing depiction of them all.
