Betsson AB, a Swedish company offering various online gambling and online gaming products, has reported record-breaking earnings in the second quarter of 2021. The increase of 14% compared to the same period of the previous year was most likely due to UEFA Euro 2020 and Copa America soccer championships. Betsson made a significant milestone during these two events – they marked its 1 million active customers. This recent success comes from a flexible and robust approach towards growing business into new markets with strategic product placement, based on variations in customer’s preferences, as stated by Pontus Lindwall, Betsson Group’s Chief Executive.
Establishing Presence in New Markets Is the Key to Betsson’s Success
Advancement in new markets is something Betsson takes pride in, and it has undoubtedly assisted in the company’s financial success in the previous quarter and the last couple of years. At the moment of writing, Betsson is looking into expanding its presence in South America, covering Brazil, Chile, Mexico, and Peru. The recent acquisition of Inkabet, as of August 11th, confirms Betsson’s intention as Inkabet has a stronghold in the online gaming businesses within the western parts of South America.
With the acquisition of Inkabet, Betsson will improve upon its portfolio of online games and sportsbooks betting options, which are already numerous and comprehensive. Casino-style games such as slots, live casino experience, table card games, or games like roulette have always enjoyed immense popularity. Sportsbooks betting within Betsson covers up to approximately 200,000 sports events within a single year, covering soccer, basketball, TV specials, and more, providing numerous options for customers to have fun and enjoy their hobby of sports watching with an added thrill factor.
Betsson is also seeking to expand on African soil, notably after Betson Kenya launched last year, which all responsible gaming fans in the region are welcoming. In addition, Betsafe is a big supporter of African soccer, signing three-year contracts with AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia FC, two leading Kenyan soccer clubs. An added benefit of Betsafe having a solid position in Kenya is newly opened jobs which provide a livelihood to approximately 1,000 Kenyan residents.
To cope with an accelerated expansion, Betsson has invested in Masterpiece Gaming and Strive Platform Limited, two companies that can provide the B2B service distribution technology. Strive Platform Limited is an iGaming service provider in which Betsson has 35% of the stake. This investment is complementing Betsson’s plans of entering the American iGaming and betting entertainment industry.
Masterpiece Gaming has selected Betsson to act as the supplier of B2B sportsbooks solutions, which has set the foundation for Betsson on the German territory. Masterpiece Gaming intends to offer online sportsbooks services on the German market using the brand name JackOne. With this multi-year agreement, Betsson will provide Masterpiece Gaming with the technology used for Player Account Management (PAM), customer support, risk management, Betsson’s payment platform (PAAS), and more.
