Our Promise
At Bright Side of News (BSN), our mission is to help readers make confident, informed decisions about the technology shaping modern life — from smartphones and fintech to streaming, mobility, and home tech.
Our journalism stands on three values: integrity, accuracy, and trust.
We earn that trust by explaining how we work, why we write what we do, and the standards that guide every story we publish.
Editorial Independence
No outside influence.
Our editorial team decides what to cover and how to cover it — free from input by advertisers, sponsors, or partners.
No paid reviews.
We never sell coverage, rankings, or backlinks. Every verdict is earned through testing and analysis, not transactions.
Clear labeling.
If content is paid, sponsored, or produced with a brand partner, it will be clearly marked so readers can distinguish it from independent reporting.
Affiliate transparency.
Some pages may include affiliate links that could earn BSN a small commission at no extra cost to you.
These links never influence our opinions, scoring, or recommendations.
Sourcing and Verification
Facts first.
We verify information using official documentation, public filings, on-the-record statements, and firsthand testing whenever possible.
Multiple perspectives.
For complex stories, we seek confirmation from more than one credible source.
Anonymous sources.
Used rarely and only with editor approval, typically to protect privacy, safety, or legal standing.
Attribution.
When citing other publications, we credit and link to them. If information has not been independently verified, we make that clear.
Images and media.
All visuals are credited and accurately represent the subject matter, edited only for clarity, lighting, or framing — never for deception.
Reviews and Testing Policy
Hands-on approach.
Our reviews are grounded in real-world testing and consistent evaluation criteria.
Samples and purchases.
Whenever possible, we purchase retail units. If we test a loaned or preview unit, it receives identical testing and no preferential treatment.
We disclose loan arrangements where relevant.
Embargoes.
We sometimes review products under embargo to ensure timely publication, but manufacturers never see or approve our findings in advance.
Conflicts of Interest
Full disclosure.
All team members must disclose personal, financial, or family connections to any company or product they cover.
Recusal.
If a potential conflict exists, coverage is reassigned.
Gifts and hospitality.
We do not accept gifts, paid travel, or perks that could influence our coverage.
Low-value or unavoidable items are either declined, donated, or disclosed at the editor’s discretion.
Investments.
Editorial staff do not hold or trade individual stock in companies they actively cover.
Corrections and Updates
Accuracy over speed.
We prioritize being right rather than being first.
Corrections.
If we make an error, we fix it promptly and add a timestamped correction note explaining what changed and why.
Clarifications.
When new context or data enhances a story, we update it with a clearly dated note.
Removals.
Content is only taken down in exceptional legal or safety circumstances, and we’ll indicate the reason when possible.
Content Maintenance and Review
Regular refresh.
Major guides and evergreen reviews are revisited on a scheduled basis:
- Monthly for fast-changing topics like phone pricing, streaming plans, and digital banking offers
- Quarterly for longer-term features such as hardware round-ups or editorials
Transparency of changes.
Updated articles include a short “What Changed” note so readers can easily track revisions.
AI Usage Policy
Human-led, tools-assisted.
We may use AI tools for background research or language cleanup, but every story is written, reviewed, and approved by human editors.
No synthetic facts.
We never use AI to generate product test data, benchmarks, or factual claims.
If AI meaningfully assists in production, that use is disclosed.
Advertising and Sponsorship Firewalls
Separate teams.
Advertising, sponsorship, and commerce operations are managed independently of our editorial team.
Clear labels.
Sponsored or partner features are marked “Sponsored,” “Paid Partner,” or similar.
Editorial staff do not write, edit, or approve advertisements.
Reader Feedback
We value input from our readers.
If you notice an error, have questions about our standards, or wish to suggest a correction, please email admin@brightsideofnews.com with the article link and details.
All messages are reviewed by our editorial leadership team.
Closing Statement
These standards reflect how Bright Side of News earns and maintains reader trust.
By combining transparent sourcing, hands-on testing, clear corrections, and full independence from commercial influence, we uphold the values that define responsible, trustworthy technology journalism.
