OnePlus 7 Pro Review: Is It Still Good to Use in 2025?

Oneplus 7 Pro is an expensive but premium launch by the company. The sheer speed and notchless display of this phone are unlike what its big-budget competitors are offering. Priced at $669, the Oneplus 7 Pro is $190 more expensive than my predecessor phone, OnePlus 6T. However, this phone is bigger and better than my previous phone. I shopped for the OnePlus 7 Pro variant with 12GB of RAM. But you can also pick between the 6GB or 8GB variants.
QHD+AMOLED Screen Makes Everything a Breeze
I was most thrilled to buy this phone for its 6.67in QHD+AMOLED screen. I absolutely enjoy watching series when I am traveling home from work. It takes 2 hours to reach my home from my office. The 90Hz refresh rate of the OnePlus 7 Pro is a lot more than I have experienced. Scrolling between apps and the home screen is a breeze on this phone. If you are only looking for a 60Hz phone, this review can be an eye-opener. The screen of the 7 Pro phone is like a seamless slate.
Pop-Up Selfie Camera
I personally love the OnePlus7 Pro because it has no notches on the screen. The pop-up selfie camera and thin speaker on the phone’s top are only making this phone a steal deal for quality shoppers. The mounted selfie camera in a motorized module pops up to click a selfie. The 48MP triple rear camera of the OnePlus 7 Pro helped me capture detailed images. I could click some really interesting images with the OnePlus 7 Pro camera with a 16MP ultra-wide angle, 16MP front-facing camera, and 8MP telephoto spec.
A Phone with No Traditional Design
The tiny bezels and curved edges of the OnePlus 7 Pro phone is unlike the traditional smartphone design. I found the USB-C port of the phone at par with other phones. There is a triple camera lump. You won’t find any headphone socket. The overall look is simple and attractive. It is quite similar to my wife’s Samsung phone in appearance. The phone provides LTE connectivity. It features Bluetooth 5 and GPS, along with Wi-Fi AC and NFC.
A Bigger Smartphone Option
My OnePlus 7 Pro phone looks bigger despite its minimal bezels. It weighs 206g. The phone is 75.9mm wide, 162.6mm tall, and 8.8mm thick. The Huawei 6.47in P30 Pro is narrower compared to the OnePlus7 Pro. This Huawei phone is 73.44 mm. You get to pick between 128GB and 256GB storage options.
Ease Of Usage
I can flex my OnePlus 7 Pro phone because it’s a stretch in terms of usage. I can hold the phone in my hand without worrying about dropping it while traveling on public transport. The hard metal edge and curved back also add to the convenience. The Oxygen OS 9.5 operating system is based on the Android 9 Pie. This customized Android software even allows for three years of software updates from the release date.
Qualcomm Snapdragon for Sheer Speed
OnePlus 7 Pro has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor pleasing for a OnePlus enthusiast like me. This Qualcomm processor was the number one differentiating factor on my list.
