NJDGE license for New Jersey

In a recent announcement, CEO of gaming provider Playtech Mor Weizer revealed that the company has managed to land a license to launch an online casino in New Jersey. Playtech, which is headquartered in Isle of Man, has a wide reach but has not yet had the opportunity to get a strong footing in the U.S. With the newly-acquired license, Weizer hopes that this will change sooner, rather than later.

New Jersey is just the first state that Playtech is targeting

Talking about the acquisition of the license, Weizer said that the move represents a major milestone for the company for several reasons. The CEO acknowledged the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (NJDGE)’s stringent requirements, adding that the U.S. represents a key market for the company. With the newly-acquired license, Playtech will work with its long-time business partner bet365, a major international sports betting provider, to deliver its services to U.S. players.

Furthermore, Weizer revealed what the company intends to do in New Jersey and beyond. After opening an online casino in New Jersey, Playtech is looking for a quick follow-up by adding several other online platforms to players in the state, including sports betting and live casino. From there, Playtech will aim to spread to other states by gaining additional licenses, a process that Weizer revealed is already underway. The CEO was thrilled by the acquisition of the first license and stated that Playtech’s expansion into the U.S. will be a long-term process for the company.
