If there’s a car roadshow, event, or exhibition nearby, I’m going for sure. It’s always a fun way to check out new models, interact with the brand, and try out features.

I recently attended one such car roadshow, where Subaru was showcasing the latest Subaru XV (aka Subaru Crosstrek), a versatile compact SUV that has created hype among motorheads all over. I took the opportunity to explore the XV in person, and every minute at the booth was worth it.

To complete the experience, I also dropped by the Subaru showroom afterward. Sitting inside, testing the infotainment system, and even taking a quick test drive gave me a fuller picture of the car beyond the excitement of the roadshow.

Design

Let’s begin with how it looks, since that’s what turns heads before anything else. No doubt, the designers did a great job with the Subaru XV and came up with a stylish design. The raised profile, bold front design, and immaculate body will make anyone stop and admire it.

The features that add more beauty to it are the chunky wheel arches add a rugged edge, while sleek LED taillights and headlights give it a modern flair. You also get quite a few options in colors so you can go with the one that suit your personality.

Performance

Now, you may not get flattened easily with the looks and make your decision based on the apart from these features, it also boasts a Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system, which gives you excellent control over the car, especially if you are driving on rough terrain or slippery roads, where accidents are common.

The CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) turns every ride into a smooth experience, while the ground clearance is equally impressive and can handle light off-roading with ease.

Safety

A car can be beautiful, powerful and everything, but safety should be the priority, and Subaru XV doesn’t disappoint because it has strong safety features, as it should. The manufacturer has also tried to integrate the advanced safety tech compromising of lane departure alert, adaptive cruise control, a clear rear-view camera, and pre-collision braking, to ensure you drive safely and never lose control. Added to these features, it has smart driver-assist features and a sturdy build that protects passengers in case something goes wrong.

Without a doubt, SUV comes with a lot of features and if you already thinking of making an investment with a budget between RM149,788 and RM156,788, the Subaru XV offers full value for your money. While it is not cheap, features like reliability, safety, comfort, and durability justify the high price, making it a smart investment.

Whether you need a car for adventure or a dependable ride, the XV offers solid value if you are ready to invest.
