Is Spotify Premium Worth It

16 years of Spotify being around, and if anything, it has gotten better with time, with more music and podcasts to listen to. But one question remains: is Spotify premium worth it, or is the brand promotion getting to people?

I recently subscribed to the premium package, and it’s the best decision I made because of the vast music collection. I am here to share my experience so you can decide if Spotify Premium is worth your money and attention.

What do I like?

Spotify Premium gives you a better experience with the app because you don’t need to deal with ads and can listen to your most-liked tracks without interruption. What’s even better is that it enhances the audio quality better than other music streaming apps.

Buying an audiobook on Spotify is not cheap, as you pay $20 or more, but with a premium subscription, you pay half the price and enjoy 15 hours of audiobooks, which you couldn’t before.

Another perk of being a premium subscriber is downloading as many songs as you like from the platform straight to your device and listening to them whenever you please offline. This feature is useful because I travel often and can listen to my favorite tracks even if the network is down.

What Needs Improvement?

Despite the good stuff, there are a few things about the premium subscription that are not great enough and need to be talked about. For instance, the prices are expensive, except for the student plan, and because of that, many users cannot afford it, especially if they have other subscriptions to pay for.

Choosing Spotify Premium means you can access real-time lyrics, but unfortunately, that is not the case because many songs don’t. I feel it would be great if Spotify took care of this issue so more people would be encouraged to get the premium plan.

Spotify Premium Pricing

Now let me first share the pricing details so you have an idea of how much you’ll spend every month. Spotify offers different premium packages for single users, students, and families, so users can pick what’s good for them and not pay a penny more than what’s required.

If you are single like me, the solo plan costs $10.99 per month, which is decent compared to what other services offer. Spotify’s student plan is the cheapest at $5.99 per month, but you can avail yourself of it if you can prove you are a student; otherwise, you will have to choose a different plan.

Spotify Premium Duo costs $14.99 per month and is good for people living in the same house but allows up to two accounts only. For large families with more members, Spotify Premium Family gives access to six accounts and costs $16.99 monthly.

Final Verdict

Spotify Premium is a solid service because it makes listening to music much better than you can imagine. The ad-free experience, offline listening, and better sound quality are worth paying for if you are a music enthusiast like me.
